A dream design by the architectural firm of Steve Smyers, Colton Craig, and Tom Coyne, the Sunken Prairie lies on the flooded plains of North Eastern South Dakota. The routing snakes along 1800 acres of flooded farm ground known as Reetz Lake. The most unique and obscure course in recent memory, the Sunken Prairie awaits to challenge all caliber of golfers.
The 10,000 sq foot Club House will sit above hole 1 and hole 18 of the Sunken Prairie, where you will enjoy stunning views of Reetz Lake and the quiet serenity of South Dakota. The Club House boasts amenities such as a Social Club, Fine Dining Restaurant, Gym, Golf Simulators, Locker Rooms, Billiard and Playing Card rooms, a Cigar Lounge, and Conference & Meeting rooms.
First Class Clubhouse
The Reetz family had farmed and raised livestock for decades in what is now the bottom of Reetz Lake. But by 1996, due to increased rainfall and a rising water table, the lake had made the land unusable and had forced the relocation of several outbuildings. Stocked with fish once in 2001, the lake has since been naturally reproducing and home to monster walleye. Traditionally, the trophy limit states that only one walleye may be kept over 28 inches long. Walleye, smallmouth bass, black crappie, blue gill, and yellow perch are the primary sport fish species present. The lake is closed to the general public and is a great place to float or fish for the entire family.
